This course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals working in general practice in the UK. It aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of asthma management based on the latest recommendations and guidelines, with a specific focus on primary care. Participants will gain the necessary expertise to effectively diagnose and manage asthma, apply the BTS/SIGN guidelines, evaluate treatment options and inhaler devices, identify patients at risk of acute asthma and develop care plans. Course Duration: 1 day (6-8 hours) Understand and apply the latest recommendations and guidelines for asthma diagnosis in primary care. Interpret and implement the BTS/SIGN guidelines and standards in the management of asthma. Demonstrate proficiency in advising patients on inhaler devices and selecting appropriate treatment options. Evaluate the advantages and differences between new inhaler devices to facilitate informed decision-making. Identify patients at risk of developing acute asthma and provide timely intervention. Develop effective treatment strategies and care plans to prevent exacerbations of asthma.
